Opportunity description

Stanton House is currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join an Energy Business in London on a 12-month Contract paying £450 - £500 per day Inside of IR35. This role offers a hybrid working model with 2 working in their London office.

Responsibilities:

Month-end Responsibilities:

  • Manage actuals accounting for relevant cost centres within the Business software.
  • Prepare reports comparing actuals to business plan and forecasts (P&L and balance sheet) with insightful commentary on variances.
  • Develop and maintain risks and opportunities against forecasts, collaborating with regulation and regulatory finance teams.
  • Review monthly, quarterly, H1, and outturn results based on actual performance, re-forecasting as necessary (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Ensure timely recognition and billing of all cost recoveries.
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations with supporting schedules.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Preparing first drafts of documentation and presentations for the Business.
  • Collaborate with the CTO and Operations team to gather data for annual research.
  • Assist the Head of Financial Reporting & Control with the year-end audit of the intragroup ledger.
  • Prepare an annual 3-year business plan for intragroup cost, revenue, profit, and cash with clear assumptions and associated risks and opportunities.
  • Support planned systems updates, continuous improvement and wider transformation projects.
  • Enhance the control environment and control improvements.
  • Review and update formal process and policy documents regularly.

To be suitable for this role you must have the following:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Familiarity with month-end processes and variance reporting.
  • Experience in divisional/group reporting.
  • Ability to supply information and manage relationships for external regulators or external audits.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with large data sets (desirable).
  • Previous exposure to SAP accounting software (desirable).
