What does the future hold for Robotic Process Automation?

Posting date: 02 Apr 2019

Although Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has been circulating for the last decade, it has only just become mainstream and it seems a large portion of finance professionals are still unaware of what the anacronym stands for, how it can be implemented and how it can be turned into a success story.

We recently hosted a round-table event to explore this very topic and it seems only a handful of our guests had successfully implemented RPA in their organisation.

As it stands, RPA can optimise repetitive processes, enhance your finance function and reduce FTE, time and money and we anticipate that the adoption of RPA will elevate in the coming years but with more and more finance professionals looking to RPA, what does the future have in store for RPA?

Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) differ from RPA however the advances in RPA will be centred around how these tools are integrated and utilised. AI will take RPA beyond just being a rule-based technology as Smart Process Automation is able to automate the unstructured data that current bots are incapable of managing alone and it uses Machine Learning to do this.

As pilots and proof of concepts are more and more successful, RPA will be more widely accepted as a go-to solution for your finance function and while at present, it is more focused on internal operations, in the future it will be used in customer facing processes and have the ability to transform your organisation, across every discipline.

We have produced a white paper that explores how you can build a case for RPA and measure it's success. We discuss the options for delivery, keys for success and paint a picture as to what the future of RPA might look like.

To receive a copy of this paper and start your own journey with RPA, please get in touch but in the meantime, join the conversation - what do you think the future of RPA holds?
