Stanton House is partnering exclusively with a rapidly growing, Private Equity-backed SaaS company that is seeking to appoint a Financial Controller. Having recently received new investment, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business undergoing significant international growth at the beginning of a new cycle.
As a senior leader within the organisation, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in motivating and inspiring the Finance and Operations teams, as well as engaging with the broader business. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will also serve as a key point of contact for the Senior Leadership Team, providing clear insights into financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
In order to succeed in the role
Professional qualification (ACA or ACCA) required
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience post-qualification, with at least 3 of those years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong experience on financial reporting and control with a proven track record or improving processes and systems
Advanced - and able to be evidenced - proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and strong knowledge of cloud-based financial and accounting software; intermediate proficiency with non-Excel Microsoft Office suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and derive key messages and priorities from that data
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
Proven leadership abilities, with experience in team management and development.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to;
Develop and implement internal financial and (to the extent relevant to the Finance function) operational controls to safeguard company assets.
Monitor and analyse historic financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and working with the CFO to influence financial performance.
Ensure accurate and timely financial data collection and processing and implement checks and balances to continuously improve data quality and process efficiency.
Design, manage and implement appropriate accounting policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards, and ensure that upcoming regulations and accounting standards are considered.
Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies, and ensure that all statutory and contractual obligations are met.
Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Support the FP&A Analyst and CFO in developing financial forecasts and budgets.
Ensure that the financial reporting, appropriate to the role's responsibility, is produced on a timely basis and is accurate.
Review weekly/monthly (as appropriate) cash forecasting and reporting
Taking ownership for the selection and implementation of a new ERP and EMP product for the business, with responsibility for driving effective change and finance transformation.
Ad hoc support to the CFO on companywide projects including M&A.
