Head of Collections

Stanton House is recruiting for an Interim Head of Collections to join a Logistics Business in Derbyshire on a 12-month Contract offering £450-550 per day, inside IR35. This hybrid role works 3 days in their Derbyshire office and the rest from home.

About the Role:
The cleint are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Collections to lead the Collections function, overseeing a team of 50 professionals, including 3 direct managerial reports. This is a critical leadership role responsible for optimizing collections performance, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance across all stages of debt recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and develop the Collections team to deliver performance targets and service excellence.

• Manage three direct reports, providing strategic direction and day-to-day oversight across Early Collections, Late Collections, and Recovery functions.

• Design and implement collections strategies that improve recovery rates and customer outcomes.

• Analyze performance data and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Risk, Legal, Customer Service, and Finance to align collections activity with business goals.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

• Set KPIs, monitor performance, and produce regular reports for senior leadership.

• Champion a culture of accountability, development, and customer-centricity within the team.

About You:

• Proven experience in a senior collections leadership role within financial services, utilities, or a similar regulated environment.

• Strong people management skills with a track record of leading large teams (50+) and managing senior-level direct reports.

• Strategic thinker with the ability to drive change and process improvement.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Deep understanding of collections regulations and best practices.
