Data Scientist Lead

Our client a leading investment company are looking to hire in their data team. The data team is responsible for building and maintaining proprietary systems that span the entire data lifecycle-from ingestion through to financial reporting, deal flow support, and predictive modeling.

They are seeking a Data Scientist to join our data team on an interim basis, with potential for a permanent role. The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing large datasets, building predictive models, and communicating insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. A strong analytical mindset and solid statistical grounding are essential. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and common machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, NumPy) is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, deploy, and maintain models to forecast revenues

• Identify and evaluate predictive features relevant to forecasting

• Collaborate across teams to interpret and communicate results clearly

• Build dashboards, visualisations, or other tools to monitor model performance

• Write clean, testable, and well-structured code

• Contribute to ongoing improvements and innovation within the data platform

Skills and experience needed

• Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field

• 4+ years of relevant experience (flexibility for exceptional candidates)

• Experience of Python is a must

The role is a hybrid working pattern with 3 days expected to be in the office in London.
