Role Overview:
They are seeking a Group Reporting Manager - a highly technical and hands-on finance leader - to strengthen financial governance, enhance reporting quality, and drive process improvements across the finance function.
The Group Reporting Manager will lead financial accounting, reporting, and compliance activities, overseeing AP/AR, statutory accounts, tax processes, and key improvement initiatives. Working as part of a collaborative Finance Leadership Team, you will ensure the organisation maintains strong technical standards and robust financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
Lead month-end close, balance sheet ownership, and cashflow reporting
Produce accurate statutory accounts (prepared fully in-house)
Maintain up-to-date accounting compliance and technical standards
Oversee investment accounting and reporting
AP/AR Oversight & Operational Excellence
Line manage and coach AP and AR teams (2 direct reports)
Enhance service quality, reduce days-to-pay, and improve internal processes
Maintain and develop financial policies, procedures, and controls
Tax, Audit & Compliance
Lead statutory audit and all associated preparation
Manage tax accounting processes, including considerations for capital gains tax on investment portfolios
Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure ongoing compliance
Strategic & Continuous Improvement Projects
Lead organisational readiness for upcoming e-invoicing requirements (2029)
Drive continuous improvement across financial operations
Provide strong technical advice and guidance to the wider business
About You
You will thrive in an environment where technical strength, ownership, and hands-on delivery are essential. To be successful in this role you will need:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
Experience working in an SME environment with a hands-on approach
Strong technical accounting background
Experience leading statutory accounting, audit, and compliance
Industry experience (not straight from practice)
Line management experience
Hands-on mindset, comfortable delivering without offshore support
Experience with tax accounting and understanding of capital gains tax
Experience in continuous improvement or control enhancement programmes
Strong coaching and mentoring approach
