Head of Global Business Services
š London based - Hybrid working (3 days in office)
š° Ā£130,000 - Ā£150,000 + Bonus + Benefits
This is a senior Group leadership role responsible for building and leading a global business services (GBS) function across a complex, multi-country organisation. The position focuses on delivering consistent, high-quality shared services across core finance processes, underpinned by strong governance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, driving efficiency, standardisation, and scalable service delivery while supporting ongoing transformation and business growth. Working closely with the CFO, Group Financial Controller, and regional leadership teams, the role partners across Finance, Technology, and Operations to enable a globally aligned service model.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the global GBS strategy, operating model, and roadmap aligned to Group priorities
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing, globally distributed shared services organisation
- Drive standardisation and process optimisation across finance and operational service lines
- Deliver measurable efficiency improvements alongside longer-term transformation initiatives
- Partner with regional and functional leaders to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance systems, data, and digital capabilities
- Oversee governance, risk, and financial controls within the GBS environment
- Ensure compliance with global regulatory and corporate policy frameworks
- Act as a key interface between GBS and senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business
- Lead continuous improvement across processes, systems, and service delivery models
Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience within global business services, shared services, or large-scale operations
- Track record of managing complex, international teams in a matrixed environment
- Strong strategic capability with experience driving transformation and operational improvement
- Commercially and financially astute with the ability to deliver efficiency and value creation
- Experience partnering senior stakeholders including CFO and executive leadership
- Strong understanding of governance, risk, and control frameworks
- Demonstrated people leadership and organisational development experience
- Strong communication and influencing skills across global teamsĀ
- Spanish language skill would be advantageous but not essentialĀ
- Proven ability to drive process improvement and operational excellence
- High level of resilience, accountability, and delivery focus
