Finance Manager

You will lead a team of Management Accountants and be the primary finance contact for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, insight, and high-quality service across the board. You'll also support process improvements, new client onboarding, and help shape the future of financial asset management in a fast-paced, evolving business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of renewable energy clients, ensuring all financial deliverables under MSAs are met
  • Supervise and review monthly management accounts, offering insightful commentary and variance analysis
  • Produce and review cashflow forecasts, budget models, distribution calculations and loan compliance reporting
  • Serve as a trusted business partner and first point of contact for clients, managing escalations and complex queries
  • Oversee budgeting cycles and quarterly board reporting, presenting finance updates at board meetings
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (e.g. OFGEM) and support tax and audit processes
  • Coordinate the preparation of statutory accounts (FRS101, FRS102, IFRS) including consolidations and complex accounting treatments
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and leadership to a growing team of finance professionals
  • Support ERP system implementation and drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage onboarding for new client contracts and migrations
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Asset Management, Legal, Tax and Commercial on cross-functional projects

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong technical accounting expertise (IFRS, UK GAAP, FRS102/101)
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with clients and senior stakeholders
  • Experience within the renewables sector or Big Four background highly desirable
  • Exceptional commercial acumen and ability to interpret contracts
  • Experience managing teams of qualified and part-qualified accountants
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (IFS/Agresso advantageous)
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, drive efficiencies and lead change initiatives
