Job Title:
Senior Finance Manager - Technical Accounting & Consolidations

Senior Finance Manager - Technical Accounting & Consolidation required for a FTSE-listed construction business undergoing financial transformation (Hybrid - Maidenhead)

£80,000 - £90,000 + comprehensive benefits package, depending on experience

Office located in Maidenhead (3 days a week in the office)

Stanton House are partnering with a well-established, FTSE-listed construction business with a strong national presence delivering high-profile infrastructure projects. As part of a broader drive to enhance financial governance and reporting capability, the business is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join its central Group Finance team.

This is a key leadership role within the technical accounting and consolidation function, responsible for group external reporting, managing consolidations across multiple entities, and supporting complex technical accounting matters. The successful candidate will coordinate the external audit, provide high-quality technical advice, and deputise for the Head of Technical Accounting & Consolidation.

You'll be joining a high-performing finance team with regular exposure to senior stakeholders, offering excellent progression opportunities within a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) with 5+ years of post-qualified experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and group consolidations
  • Experience in a senior technical accounting or external audit role
  • Track record of producing and reviewing statutory accounts and disclosures
  • Ability to communicate complex accounting matters to senior non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, project management, and team leadership skills
  • Experience within construction or long-term contract accounting (IFRS 15) desirable

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and review of group and subsidiary consolidations on a quarterly basis
  • Coordinate and manage the external audit process, acting as key contact for auditors
  • Review and produce technical accounting papers and board-level financial disclosures
  • Oversee segmental and statutory reporting in line with IFRS and Companies Act requirements
  • Support complex accounting areas such as IFRS 16, IFRS 9, IFRS 2, and goodwill impairment testing
  • Provide technical accounting advice across the business, including reviewing proposals and papers
  • Maintain and promote the group accounting manual, delivering training as required
  • Drive process improvement across reporting, consolidation, and technical accounting activities
  • Deputise for the Head of Technical Accounting & Consolidation, supporting strategic initiatives
