A global professional services organisation is looking to hire a newly created Digital Portfolio Manager role within their Digital Practice Group. This is the hub for innovation, labs, and technical capability, creating solutions for use across the firm. The group also provides Digital Services to practice groups, enabling teams to adopt new technologies, improve user experience, and embrace design thinking.

This is a global, high-impact role at the heart of a rapidly scaling team, with ambitions to double in size by year-end. The Digital Portfolio Manager will provide the central coordination the group needs, aligning the Directorships agendas, prioritising resources, and ensuring the successful delivery of the digital transformation agenda.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the central driver for coordination and alignment across four divisional Directors.
  • Chair discussions, broker agreements, and introduce frameworks and processes to aid decision-making.
  • Manage prioritisation, resource allocation, and stakeholder communications.
  • Oversee delivery of digital initiatives, taking a hands-on programme management role when required.
  • Develop and implementation of governance frameworks.
  • Liaise with Procurement, People & Culture, HR, Legal, and IT to bring in tools and new ways of working.
  • Work closely with Agile delivery teams (scrum, sprints) - no need to be a deep technical SME, but must understand the intent and impact of initiatives.
  • Operate at both strategic portfolio level and tactical delivery level.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Strong Portfolio oversight experience - not solely large-scale enterprise change delivery
  • Track record in technology-led transformation, ideally in professional services
  • Experience building functions or teams from the ground up and establishing governance. capabilities and ways of working
  • Skilled in managing strong personalities and aligning differing priorities.
  • Comfortable working in what can be described as a start-up-style environment within a structured global organisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Agile (plus some Waterfall exposure).
  • Pragmatic, collaborative, and able to challenge constructively.
  • Ability to gain a granular understanding of initiatives, and get embedded within the detail but with a strategic lens.
