About the role
As Group Finance Director, you'll lead financial strategy and control across a multi-entity services group, reporting to the CFO. You'll own consolidated reporting, cash generation, working capital, and debt management while driving financial discipline and governance to support investment decisions and group growth.
What you'll be doing
- Shape the group financial strategy and provide strategic advice to the CFO and executive leadership.
- Oversee consolidated financial reporting, IFRS compliance, and financial governance across the group.
- Deliver critical financial reporting cycles including half-year results and board-level financial papers, ensuring accurate and timely insight to governance stakeholders and the board.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, liquidity, banking relationships, and debt covenants.
- Ensure robust management and compliance with debt covenants and banking requirements, maintaining clear oversight of financial obligations and covenant metrics.
- Ensure project and contract profitability through revenue recognition and margin oversight.
- Build and maintain financial forecasts and models to support planning and investment decisions.
- Manage financial risks around fixed-price contracts, cost inflation, and operational delays.
- Support acquisitions and integration activity with financial analysis and structure.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and influence cross-functional decisions.
What we're looking for
- Senior finance leadership in PLC or multi-entity group environments, ideally from infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, or services sectors.
- Proven track record in financial control, IFRS reporting, and governance.
- Strong grasp of cash flow management and working capital in complex operations.
- Experience in contract-driven or project-based sectors with knowledge of margin protection and financial risk.
- Ability to lead and develop finance teams with strong communication and stakeholder influence.
- M&A or acquisition experience a plus.
