Job Title:
AP Process Automation Expert (FTC)

One of our retail clients is looking for an AP Process & Automation Expert to work with the AP team and drive automation, efficiency, and cultural change across a large, high-volume team.

Role: AP Process & Automation Expert
12 Month FTC (Potential to go permanent)
£70,000-£75,000
Hybrid: 3 days per week in North London

The Hiring Manager describes this role as:
"Someone who genuinely wants to improve things - who can look at our manual, complex AP processes and help the team do things better by assessing their options to automate. We need a curious problem-solver who can spot opportunities for automation and AI, build trust with the team, and get stuck into the detail."

Key Requirements:

  • Solid hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and finance process automation - experience of RPA/Automation/AI automation critical
  • Background in BAU AP operations/processes ideal
  • Strong communication skills a must - able to challenge and influence in a supportive, non-threatening way and bring the business along for the journey
  • Background in Shared Services (SSC) environments strongly preferred
  • Proven experience implementing automation, RPA or AI across business processes
  • Curious mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Able to work daily with AP teams while taking strategic direction from leadership
  • Oracle Fusion experience is ideal, but not essential
  • Must be excited to roll up sleeves and work in the detail - not just map processes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embed yourself in the day-to-day operations of a 14-person AP team to understand and evaluate existing processes
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation, RPA, or AI-led solutions
  • Lead and deliver process improvement initiatives that genuinely improve efficiency
  • Build strong, positive relationships with the AP team and bring them along the change journey
  • Work closely with the AP leadership to ensure alignment on priorities
  • Deliver measurable improvements that reduce workload and improve invoice throughput

This role is perfect for someone passionate about process automation and ready to make a real impact in a high-volume AP environment. If you're on the way up in your career and want to be part of something transformative, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a 12 month FTC, with travel to a North London office 3 days a week.

Due to volume of applications, we may not be able to respond to all unsuccessful applicants.
