About the role

A Private-Equity backed Asset Management client are seeking a highly motivated, technically strong and hands on Interim Group Financial Controller to join our team.

This is a key role supporting both the CFO and Director of Finance, with direct line management responsibility for a Finance Manager and Finance Assistant. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial controls, delivering high-quality reporting, and driving process improvements to support the Group's continued growth.

This position offers exposure to the Board, Group Management Committee, divisional finance teams, auditors and HR, making it an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance leader with the confidence to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide strategic and operational financial support to the CFO and Director of Finance.
  • Deliver accurate, timely monthly management accounts with insightful commentary.
  • Lead the preparation of annual financial statements for the Group and subsidiaries, managing the full audit process.
  • Take ownership of cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, treasury operations and covenant monitoring.
  • Strengthen financial controls and risk management frameworks across the Group.
  • Oversee tax compliance (VAT, corporation tax, filings) in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Support payroll and remuneration processes, ensuring alignment with HR and reporting requirements.
  • Manage AP/AR processes and ensure robust authorisation controls.
  • Lead enhancements to the Group's accounting systems (NetSuite) and contribute to future finance transformation initiatives.
  • Provide financial analysis and support on strategic projects, transactions and modelling.
  • Develop, coach and lead a high-performing finance team.

What we're looking for

  • ACA (or equivalent) qualified with at least 8 years' PQE in a dynamic, fast-paced business.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Hands-on experience with Payroll and VAT
  • Experience in fund accounting and asset management; listed company reporting an advantage.
  • Proven track record in financial systems and transformation projects.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Confident, proactive and resilient with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communicator who can adapt to different stakeholders and deliver under pressure.
