💰£140,000 - £160,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

The Company

We are exclusively retained by a privately owned construction group with a strong presence in Southeast England, looking to hire a strategic, commercially focussed Finance Director. As a trusted partner to leading UK housebuilders and developers, they specialise in largescale groundworks, reinforced concrete frames, and complex remediation, while also managing property development and private investment interests. Joining the business means stepping into a senior leadership role with real influence, working directly with the owners and executive team to shape strategy and performance. You'll have the autonomy to lead multiple corporate functions, deliver transformation, and play a key role in a dynamic, fast-growing organisation where your impact is immediate and visible.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic, commercially focused Finance Director to lead the Finance, IT, and HR functions. As part of the executive team, you'll play a critical role in shaping the growth strategy of the company, strengthening governance, and ensuring operational excellence across the group.

What You'll Do

✔️ Act as a trusted adviser to the owners and senior leadership team

✔️ Lead and develop finance, HR, and IT teams (~30 staff)

✔️ Drive performance through insightful reporting, forecasting, and KPI setting

✔️ Oversee financial governance, compliance, and tax structuring

✔️ Modernise systems, ERP, and digital reporting

✔️ Manage banking, audit, and funding relationships

✔️ Support procurement strategy and capital management

What We're Looking For

🔹 ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with 10+ years in senior finance roles (construction/property background essential)

🔹 Proven track record scaling finance functions in owner-managed businesses

🔹 Strong commercial acumen and experience in contract accounting, WIP, and cost control

🔹 Hands-on leadership across finance, HR, and IT

🔹 Skilled in capital raising, structuring, and tax efficiency
