Job Title:
Group Financial Controller
Group Financial Controller
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Remote with travel
Salary: £80k – £100k

An ambitious Group Financial Controller is sought to play a key role in building and managing the financial control environment of a fast-growing private equity-backed Services buy and build platform.

Our client is currently executing an ambitious buy-and-build strategy within the UK Managed Services Provider (MSP) market, bringing together leading IT service providers to create a nationally integrated technology services group. As the platform continues to scale through acquisition, this role will be central to establishing robust financial control, reporting and governance across a multi-entity group.

Working closely with the CFO, senior leadership team and investors, the Group Financial Controller will lead the group reporting and consolidation process while supporting acquisition integration and the development of a scalable finance function capable of supporting continued growth.

This is a high-impact role operating at the heart of a dynamic, acquisition-led environment, offering significant exposure to M&A activity and the opportunity to help shape the finance infrastructure of a rapidly expanding platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the Group month-end close and consolidation process, delivering accurate and timely management reporting across multiple entities.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis and performance commentary for the CFO and senior leadership team.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, balance sheet integrity and governance frameworks across the group.
  • Support statutory reporting, audit processes and tax compliance, acting as a key contact for external advisors.
  • Assist the CFO with board, investor and lender reporting, alongside budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Play a key role in the group’s buy-and-build strategy, supporting financial due diligence and leading the finance integration of acquired businesses.
  • Drive improvements in finance systems, processes and automation, while helping build and develop a scalable finance team.

To Be Suitable
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Strong financial control and reporting background, ideally within technology services, IT services or multi-entity environments.
  • Experience working in PE-backed, high-growth or buy-and-build organisations desirable.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and group consolidation experience.
  • Experience supporting M&A activity, integration or finance transformation initiatives advantageous.
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work closely with senior leadership and investors.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-growth financial services platform at an early stage of its consolidation journey, playing a key role in building the finance function and supporting a strategy that is transforming the UK MSP market.

Due to the high volume of applications, we may not be able to provide individual feedback to all unsuccessful candidates.
