Job Title:
Interim Financial Controller
Stanton House is currently recruiting for an Interim Group Financial Controller to join a large, multi-site consumer-facing business in London on a contract basis (3-6 months contract). This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days per week in the London office, offering £600 per day with IR35 status to be determined.

This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, where you'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and drive cultural and operational transformation across the wider business. The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and will play a key role in strengthening finance business partnering, improving reporting quality, and modernising processes and controls.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance across reporting, controls, and business support
  • Partner closely with senior operational stakeholders to improve decision support and strengthen commercial insight
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly management information, board-level reporting, and lender reporting
  • Own cash flow, working capital, and balance sheet control processes
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting across the group
  • Oversee statutory accounts, VAT, payroll, and wider financial compliance obligations
  • Improve management information to provide clearer performance visibility and forward-looking insight
  • Drive enhancements across financial controls, policies, systems, and processes
  • Support key transformation and strategic projects across the business
  • Act as deputy to the CFO when required
To be suitable for this role you must have the following
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with strong post-qualified experience
  • Proven leadership experience managing sizeable finance teams
  • Strong technical finance grounding across reporting, controls, compliance, and statutory accounting
  • Demonstrated success improving finance processes, systems, and team culture
  • Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence senior operational stakeholders
  • Experience working in a multi-entity, high-volume environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • A commercially minded and proactive approach
