Job Title: Interim Application Analyst
Day Rate: £500 - £650 per day (outside IR35)
Contract Type: 4 months Contract initially
Location: Remote (the business has office in London)
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Application Analyst to join the dynamic IT team of a leading construction business. This is a key role responsible for the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of business-critical software applications. You will work closely with developers, IT professionals, and end users to ensure applications run smoothly, securely, and in alignment with business goals.
This role includes providing 3rd and 4th line support, addressing complex technical issues that go beyond frontline troubleshooting, and ensuring deeper system-level analysis and resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert 3rd and 4th line support for application and system issues, working to resolve escalated and complex technical challenges.
- Manage and maintain software applications to support and optimize business processes.
- Develop custom applications and enhancements tailored to business needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced application and IT issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
- Determine specific inputs required for application functionality and define desired outputs aligned with user tasks.
- Coordinate and execute upgrades and patches, ensuring compliance with best practices.
- Perform functional tests on new applications and updates.
- Select, order, and install new hardware and software to support systems.
- Oversee training for hardware and software implementation.
- Provide user support and training to enhance software utilization.
- Monitor application performance and proactively suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with IT teams and developers to ensure seamless system integration and performance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including system diagrams and configuration details.
- Respond to and resolve challenges reported by employees regarding systems and applications.
- Run regular maintenance checks and system updates, including performing data backups.
- Create and manage company networks, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity.
- Ensure data security by implementing cybersecurity protocols and safety controls.
- Train new IT staff and end users to maintain consistent technical support.
- Continuously develop systems to enhance user productivity and meet changing organizational requirements.
Key Requirements
- Experience handling 3rd and 4th line technical support for enterprise applications
- Strong ERP experience critical - Dynamics 365 Business Central experience specifically ideal
- Proven experience in software application support, development, and IT systems management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in database management and query languages (e.g., SQL).
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to diagram processes and communicate technical information effectively.
- Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Security+, Certified Scrum Master, or Oracle/SQL Database certifications are preferred.
