The Opportunity
We are partnering with a highly successful, private equity-backed UK business undergoing an exciting phase of growth and transformation. With a strong market position, ambitious value creation plans, and a data-driven leadership team, the business is looking to appoint an FP&A Manager to play a pivotal role in driving financial insight and strategic decision-making.
This is a broad and highly visible role, offering significant exposure to senior leadership, Board-level reporting, and commercial decision-making. The Role
Reporting to the Group Head of FP&A, the FP&A Manager will take ownership of group-wide planning, forecasting, financial modelling, and management reporting activities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting business performance, identifying value creation opportunities, and strengthening the quality of financial insight across the organisation.
This role has evolved from responsibilities previously spread across several finance functions and will offer substantial scope to influence processes, systems, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process across the Group
- Manage periodic reforecasting cycles and rolling forecasts
- Develop medium and long-term financial plans
- Deliver timely performance updates, highlighting key risks and opportunities
- Continuously improve forecast accuracy through deeper analysis of business drivers
Financial Modelling & Strategic Analysis
- Build and maintain robust three-statement financial models
- Support investment appraisal, business cases, and strategic initiatives
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for Executive and Board decision-making
- Provide modelling support for value creation initiatives and growth opportunities
Management Reporting & Business Insight
- Produce insightful monthly management reporting
- Deliver detailed variance analysis and performance commentary
- Develop and enhance KPI reporting and performance dashboards
- Support Board and investor reporting with clear, commercially focused analysis
Performance Management
- Lead monthly performance reviews with stakeholders
- Ensure consistency between reported results and business performance narratives
- Identify trends, challenges, and opportunities to improve performance
Process Improvement & Data Analytics
- Drive automation and continuous improvement across FP&A processes
- Champion the use of AI, analytics, and data-driven decision-making
- Support the optimisation of financial systems and reporting tools
- Promote strong data quality and governance standards
Business Partnering
- Partner with senior budget holders across corporate functions
- Provide challenge, support, and actionable financial insight
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Commercial, and Operational stakeholders
Leadership
- Coach and develop an FP&A Analyst
- Foster a high-performance, continuous improvement culture
- Support capability development within the wider finance function
About You
We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong FP&A experience gained within a complex, multi-entity environment.
You will demonstrate:
- 5+ years' post-qualified experience
- Proven ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles
- Advanced financial modelling skills, including three-statement modelling
- Experience producing Board-level reporting and executive commentary
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive, delivery-focused approach
- Advanced Excel capabilities
- Experience with planning and reporting systems (Adaptive Planning or similar desirable)
