Job Title:
Product Manager, GPU NPI | AI Infrastructure Startup | SF or Austin | $250K + Equity
About the opportunity
We are partnering with one of the fastest-growing AI infrastructure companies in the world, building the compute, data centers, and power behind frontier AI training and inference at gigawatt scale. As the business scales rapidly, they are hiring a Product Manager to own the introduction of new compute hardware, a net-new and highly cross-functional role at the heart of how the company brings the latest GPUs into production.
The role
This is the product owner for new compute hardware, from evaluation through to live deployment. When a new generation of GPUs arrives, this person decides which hardware to bring on, how it should be configured, and when to roll it out. You will sit at the center of the company's hardware strategy, connecting vendors, data center operations, infrastructure engineering, networking, and finance into one repeatable process. It is a role where the decisions are high-stakes, deeply technical, and commercially significant.
What you will do
- Own the roadmap for new GPU and accelerator hardware, including evaluation criteria, qualification timelines, and go-to-market strategy for each new generation
- Partner with data center teams on the power, cooling, and physical infrastructure required to support next-generation hardware
- Work with infrastructure engineers to validate real-world hardware performance across training and inference workloads
- Lead technical and commercial engagement with major hardware vendors, including deep dives, supply discussions, and early access programs
- Define product specifications for system configurations, from single nodes through to full racks and large-scale clusters
- Build the business cases behind new hardware, modeling cost, utilization, and pricing together
- Monitor hardware availability, supply chain constraints, and allocation strategy
What we are looking for
- 5+ years in product management, with real depth in infrastructure or hardware
- Hands-on experience bringing new hardware to market end to end, not just owning a slice of a launch
- Strong fluency in GPUs and accelerators, and how they perform under real AI workloads
- Solid understanding of data center physical infrastructure, including power, cooling, and rack architecture
- A track record of vendor engagement and supply chain work with major hardware manufacturers
- Commercial fluency, with the ability to build business cases that connect cost, utilization, and pricing
What will make someone stand out
- Has owned a full GPU or hardware product launch end to end
- Has lived through at least one full chip generation transition
- Can navigate the gap between vendor hardware roadmaps and data center construction timelines
- Can translate fluently between engineering, commercial, and customer teams
- Comfortable making high-stakes bets where a wrong call carries real cost
Why this role
This is a net-new seat created as the company scales to meet enormous demand. You will turn what is currently a one-off, founder-led process into a repeatable, productized function, and own one of the most consequential decisions the business makes: what compute to build on next.
