Opportunity description

A Private Equity backed market leader within the home service industry is looking to appoint a Group Financial Controller. Our client has demonstrated huge growth over recent years through the acquisition of franchise brands across the UK, creating a market leading, commercially successful group.

As the Group Financial Controller, you shall oversee all aspects of finance and drive the company's financial strategy and planning. You will also be responsible for assessing financial performance and play a key role within the leadership team whilst reporting to the UK CEO.

The ideal candidate will be a reliable professional with broad knowledge to all accounting, financial and business principles. You will be hands-on, able to stretch across finance functions, offer a strategic overview and be an effective team leader.

Required experience includes;

  • Fully qualified accountant with proven Financial Controllership experience
  • An analytical mind with strong attention to detail and a strategic ability with a solid accountancy background
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
  • Proven finance background at a senior level and ready to stretch/grow into next role.
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices

Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to;

  • Drive the financial planning of the company by working with budgetary requirements, analysing its performance and risk.
  • Retain constant awareness of the company's financial position and act to highlight opportunities.
  • Assist with the setting-up and oversee the company's finance IT system.
  • Review, analyse and consolidate accounts across their Brands to enable centralised reporting.
  • Set targets for and supervise accounting and finance associates, in conjunction with direct line management.
  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations.
  • Develop the financial strategy and manage relationships with US partners.
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives.
  • Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines.
  • Make recommendations and assist in the management of integration in relation to the financial aspects of any M&A projects.
  • Responsible for statutory financial returns.
  • Ensure adherence to national and international financial regulations.
