Group Tax Director

🌍 Group Tax Director | Bristol (Hybrid, 2 days a week)

I'm partnering with a market-leading, private equity-backed technology group to hire their first-ever Group Tax Director, a newly created, high-impact role reporting directly to the Group Finance Director.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior tax leader to own global tax strategy, compliance, and governance across a fast-growing, multi-entity international group. You'll shape the function, reduce reliance on external advisors, and build a high-performing in-house team.

💡 The role

The business has expanded rapidly across the UK and Europe through organic growth and acquisitions. With that comes complexity - and opportunity. You'll bring everything together under your leadership, driving consistency, efficiency, and best practice across direct and indirect tax.

You'll also lead on M&A tax due diligence and integration, working closely with the executive team to deliver practical, commercial tax solutions that support growth.

🧭 You'll be responsible for:

• Developing and executing a group-wide tax strategy.
• Overseeing direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and governance.
• Advising on M&A, structuring, and cross-border tax matters.
• Driving process improvements and tech-led efficiency.
• Building and mentoring a growing team across the UK and India.

🚀 About you

• CTA / ACA (or equivalent) qualified.
• 10+ years' international tax experience in complex, multi-entity environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, transfer pricing, and tax governance.
• Confident, influential leader who can think strategically and act pragmatically.
