Marketing Data Analyst

About the Role

We're looking for a Marketing Data Analyst to join our Marketing team and take ownership of reporting and data insights. This role focuses on extracting and interpreting data from our data warehouse to support smarter, data-led decisions across campaigns, customer engagement, and competitor insights. You will work closely with the finance team and collaborate with our internal data engineering team, who manage the core data integrations and pipelines.

Your primary responsibility will be to create clear, actionable reports and dashboards that inform strategy, fuel content creation, and demonstrate ROI-helping the marketing team self-serve data insights with tools like Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Extraction, Analysis, and Reporting

  • Extract and organise data from the Datawarehouse using basic SQL and other tools
  • Design and segment data by geography, contractor, category, or stakeholder group to support targeted marketing and campaign analysis.
  • Automate reporting processes to deliver real-time and scheduled insights.
  • Develop reports and visualisations that track achievements, investments, customer outcomes, and growth potential.
  • Interpret marketing and CRM data to provide actionable insights and forward-looking scenarios.

2. Collaboration and Enablement

  • Ensure all data is accurate, consistent, and comparable across time periods and teams.
  • Partner with the internal data engineering team on data pipelines and integrations.
  • Collaborate with marketing, digital, PR, and finance teams to align data insights with business objectives.
  • Develop self-serve reporting tools and tailored dashboards for different teams.
  • Share insights regularly to inform campaign planning, performance reviews, and optimisation.

3. Campaign and Lead Performance

  • Map and report on the customer lifecycle from acquisition to delivery.
  • Track lead performance from origin to conversion, highlighting ROI and identifying funnel bottlenecks.
  • Attribute campaign outcomes to data inputs to assess effectiveness and value.
  • Build models to analyse the costs of acquiring, cleaning, and managing data.

4. Marketing and Content Insights

  • Transform data into compelling narratives for marketing, PR, and thought leadership.
  • Provide datasets and insights to support content creation (blogs, targeted ads, industry reports).
  • Demonstrate platform and campaign value through reports on member growth, engagement, and revenue impact.

5. Market and Competitor Intelligence

  • Identify seasonal and demand-driven trends to inform marketing strategy.
  • Benchmark marketing and competitor activity to highlight market position and opportunities.
  • Create dashboards to monitor market trends and identify areas for growth.

Skills and Experience

Must Have

  • Extensive experience developing marketing dashboards and reports for C-Suite executives and operational teams, with a strong focus on Power BI.
  • Basic proficiency in SQL for data extraction from the data warehouse.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing platforms such as Marketo and Salesforce.
  • Ability to interpret data and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with data engineering and finance teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Power BI's advanced features, including Co-Pilot and natural language querying.
  • Exposure to multilingual data handling and reporting.
  • Knowledge of other reporting tools like Tableau is a plus but not required.
