Finance Manager required for a UK-listed group operating in a complex, project-led environment
(Hybrid – Maidenhead based, 3 days a week in the office)
£60,000 – £70,000 + generous car allowance and comprehensive benefits package, depending on experience
An established, FTSE-listed organisation with a strong UK footprint and a portfolio of large-scale, long-term infrastructure programmes is seeking a Finance Manager to join its central finance team.
As part of an ongoing finance transformation and strengthening of financial controls, this role focuses on overheads and entity accounting across multiple business units. You will take ownership of key month-end processes, balance sheet integrity, fixed assets, VAT and recharges, while managing a small team and partnering with senior operational stakeholders.
You’ll be joining a collaborative and high-performing finance environment with strong leadership visibility and clear progression opportunities.
Key Requirements:
• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Ideally past experience managing a direct report
• Strong technical grounding in financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls
• Experience operating within a large, complex organisation
• Familiarity with large ERP systems (Oracle or similar preferred)
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with senior non-finance stakeholders
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and strengthening financial controls
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and proactive
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and develop a small team delivering overhead and entity accounting activities
• Lead month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting timetables
• Review and sign off balance sheet reconciliations, resolving issues in a timely manner
• Oversee journal postings and maintain strong financial governance across overhead functions
• Own the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accurate depreciation, amortisation and capitalisation controls
• Manage insurance recharges and related cost allocations across entities
• Review VAT reconciliations in collaboration with the tax function
• Act as a key contact for audit queries and external reporting requirements
• Provide financial insight and challenge to operational and senior stakeholders
• Support ongoing finance transformation and systems improvement initiatives
