Job Title:
Operational Finance Manager

Operational Finance Manager

Location: London (Hybrid- 2-3 days a week)

Position Type: Permanent

Salary: £60,000-£70,000 + bonus and benefits

About the role:

I am partnering with a fast-growing, multi-entity UK business undergoing a period of growth and internal development.

The organisation operates in a complex, high-volume environment and is focused on strengthening financial controls, improving process consistency, and building a more scalable operating model.

As part of this, there is significant investment in systems and infrastructure, including a new ERP platform. This role sits at the centre of that journey, offering the opportunity to shape how finance operations are built and delivered.

This role is responsible for establishing and leading the UK finance operations function.

It combines hands-on delivery with process improvement across core transactional finance, including P2P, O2C, expenses, and cash. You will take ownership of day-to-day operations while building scalable processes, strengthening controls, and supporting system implementation.

The position offers the opportunity to define and embed how finance operates, working closely with both finance and operational stakeholders in an evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and lead the UK finance operations function across multiple entities

• Deliver robust Procure to Pay processes, including PO governance, supplier onboarding, and AP controls

• Strengthen Order to Cash performance, improving billing accuracy, collections, and cash conversion

• Design and embed scalable processes, controls, and governance across AP, AR, expenses, and cash

• Improve working capital through tighter debtor management and disciplined payables processes

• Oversee cash management, liquidity visibility, and short-term forecasting

• Drive ERP implementation, including process design, standardisation, and automation across finance operations

• Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to embed consistent processes and controls

About You:

• Qualified accountant or equivalent experience, with strong exposure to finance operations

• Proven experience improving processes, controls, and operational efficiency

• Strong understanding of AP, AR, cash management, and working capital drivers

• Hands-on, with the ability to operate at both detailed and strategic levels

• Systems-focused, ideally with ERP or transformation experience

• Comfortable working in an evolving environment with limited structure

• Clear communicator, able to engage a range of stakeholders

• Structured, pragmatic, and focused on building scalable, sustainable processes
