Job Title:
Senior Platform Engineer

Senior Platform Engineer

Remote (US) | Up to $225K DOE + Equity

About Our Client

Our client is a venture-backed, YC-incubated AI-native company building the autonomous operating layer for a multi-trillion-dollar regulated industry. They're deploying production agent systems into mission-critical, real-world environments where reliability, security, and compliance are non-negotiable. The team has raised from top-tier investors including operator-turned-VCs from the megacap tech world, ships proprietary foundation models that benchmark above frontier LLMs on domain-specific reasoning, and is scaling rapidly off the back of triple-digit ARR growth.

This is a high-performance environment. The team operates on the principle that "4 months equals 1 year" of output, and the bar is set accordingly.

The Opportunity

You'll be the senior platform owner for the production environment that runs the company's full agent fleet. The infrastructure spans multiple cloud providers (not single-cloud), powers a customer-facing AI product operating under strict regulatory and data-handling requirements, and serves enterprise customers in a vertical where downtime has real-world consequences. You'll partner directly with the Head of Engineering and founding team to take a loosely scoped platform charter and turn it into a reliable, automated, cost-efficient foundation.

What You'll Own

  • Multi-cloud provisioning, upgrades, and reliability for the core production platform (AWS, GCP, Azure - this is genuinely multi-cloud, not a single-cloud shop with a backup region)
  • End-to-end automation via Infrastructure as Code and GitOps workflows
  • Production Kubernetes across environments, including the deployment patterns for AI/agent workloads
  • CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and the internal platform experience for the engineering org
  • Cost visibility and optimization for compute-heavy AI workloads
  • Auditing the existing platform, CI/CD, and dev tooling stack with engineering and product leads, then removing the top blockers
  • Working with security and compliance partners to keep the platform aligned with the regulatory posture required by enterprise customers in this vertical

What We're Looking For

  • Senior-level experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE with production Kubernetes across multiple cloud providers (must be genuine multi-cloud experience, not single-cloud with one migration story)
  • Strong proficiency with GitOps and IaC, specifically ArgoCD plus either Terraform or Pulumi
  • Solid coding ability in Python or TypeScript for platform tooling and automation work
  • Demonstrated ability to take a loosely defined platform problem, scope it, write the requirements, and ship a working solution end-to-end
  • Comfortable operating in a high-velocity, high-ownership startup environment with a very high performance bar

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting AI/ML or agent-based production workloads
  • Background in a regulated industry (data-sensitive verticals, compliance-driven environments)
  • History of being the first or second platform hire at a Series A/B startup

Compensation

  • Base up to $225K DOE
  • Meaningful equity in an early-stage, fast-growing AI company
  • Fully remote within the US
