Job Title: Founding Solution Engineer
Location: Remote, West Coast
Compensation: $230K-$250K, 70/30 Split
The Role
A high-growth AI-powered cybersecurity company is looking for a driven and experienced Founding Solution Engineer to help shape how we engage technically with customers and scale our go-to-market function.
This is a high-impact, high-ownership position suited to an entrepreneurial technical professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and excels at bridging the gap between customers, product, and engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the pre-sales technical cycle from discovery through to successful deal support
- Lead and deliver compelling product demonstrations and technical presentations
- Design, execute, and drive successful Proof of Concepts (POCs) for enterprise customers
- Translate customer requirements into product insights and feedback for engineering and product teams
- Partner closely with Sales, Product, and R&D to support deal progression and positioning
- Build strong relationships with technical stakeholders and decision-makers
- Support pipeline growth through technical expertise in customer engagements
- Represent the company at customer meetings, technical workshops, and industry events
- Help build and refine pre-sales processes, playbooks, and best practices
About You
- 5–7 years of experience as a Solution Engineer / Sales Engineer / Pre-Sales Engineer
- Strong technical understanding of cybersecurity, SaaS, or cloud environments
- Proven experience leading enterprise-level POCs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts
- Experience working in fast-paced startup or high-growth environments
- Strong collaboration skills across Sales, Product, and Engineering teams
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to own the technical sales process end-to-end
- Experience with APIs, integrations, or cloud architectures (preferred)
- Background in offensive security, AppSec, threat research, or DevOps environments (nice-to-have)
