Job Title:
Chief Financial Officer (Built Enviroment)
Stanton House are partnering with mid-market Private Equity fund to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for a newly launched buy-and-build platform. The business is expected to execute a significant number of acquisitions over the next five years, creating a highly dynamic and transformational environment for the CFO.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in integrating and scaling acquired businesses, building a strong financial infrastructure, and shaping the organisation into a market-leading, tech-enabled professional services group operating within the built environment. Experience in construction-related professional services (e.g., building consultancy, MEP, surveying, project management) is highly desirable.

Required experience:
- Deep understanding of construction professional services, ideally within building or MEP consultancy environments.
- Proven experience leading M&A transactions and post-acquisition integration.
- Track record of building finance processes, systems, and controls from the ground up.
- Strong grasp of corporate financial law, governance, and risk management frameworks.
- Advanced capability in data-driven financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
- Big 4 audit background preferred.
- Strong academic record and relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, CA, CFA).
- Demonstrated ownership mentality, able to lead autonomously and drive progress in early-stage environments.
- Ability to influence and partner with Founders, leadership teams, and investors.
- Highly commercial with excellent judgement and strategic insight.
- Personal resilience, pace, and ambition to operate in a high-growth PE environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the financial strategy and support strategic decision-making.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, working capital, and cash-flow management.
- Financial Infrastructure: Design and implement best-practice processes, controls, reporting frameworks, and systems to support scale.
- M&A & Integration: Lead financial due diligence, valuation, deal execution and end-to-end integration of acquired businesses.
- Reporting & Insight: Produce timely, accurate financial reporting and provide analysis and recommendations to drive performance.
- Compliance & Risk: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory regulations, and risk management policies.
- Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing finance team as the organisation grows.
