Job Title: Sr. AI Engineer
Location: Remote, East Preferred
Compensation: $200K-$220K
About the Role
A fast-growing cybersecurity company is seeking a Sr. AI Engineer to lead the design and delivery of production-grade AI systems end-to-end.
The position will play a key role in building foundational AI frameworks and primitives that product and engineering teams can leverage to accelerate AI feature development across the organization.
What You’ll Do

Design, build, and operate AI systems in production with ownership across reliability, performance, observability, cost management, and ongoing model behavior

Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting, cleaning, transforming, and versioning AI training and operational data

Design and implement retrieval augmented generation pipelines, vector and graph search systems, and hybrid retrieval strategies

Architect and build AI agent systems and orchestration layers supporting multi-step reasoning, tool usage, and decision-making workflows

Build and maintain MCP servers that securely expose platform capabilities to AI systems

Develop reusable AI primitives and frameworks that accelerate AI feature delivery across product and integration teams

Apply production-grade software engineering principles to AI system design, deployment, and operations
Requirements & Skills

Proven track record of shipping production AI features used by customers

Experience owning AI systems across the full production lifecycle, including reliability, observability, cost management, and ongoing optimization

Strong data engineering fundamentals including pipeline design, data modeling, transformation, validation, and monitoring at scale

Hands-on experience with retrieval augmented generation, vector databases, graph databases, embedding models, and hybrid retrieval strategies

Experience designing and building AI agent systems and orchestration frameworks for production environments

Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience applying production-grade rigor to AI systems
Preferred Qualifications

Experience building AI systems within regulated industries or compliance-focused platforms

Familiarity with secure MCP server development and AI integration protocols

Background within enterprise SaaS organizations supporting enterprise-grade reliability, security, and integration requirements
