Job Title: Cyber Defense Principal Engineer
Job Location: Cambridge, MA (hybrid) with remote options in the Eastern time zone
Compensation: Up to $250,000 base salary (depending on experience), plus additional incentives

A fast growing, mission driven life sciences organization is building out a modern cyber defense function and is looking for a senior individual contributor to help shape the technical strategy for detection, investigation, and response across a complex enterprise environment.

What You’ll Do

• Define the technical roadmap for cyber defense platforms and capabilities
• Architect and scale SIEM, SOAR, security data pipelines, and automation frameworks
• Lead detection engineering across cloud, endpoint, identity, network, and SaaS environments
• Improve incident response workflows using automation and AI driven approaches
• Serve as a senior technical advisor during high impact investigations and security initiatives

What You Bring

• 10 plus years across cyber defense, such as detection engineering, threat hunting, incident response, or security engineering
• Strong programming and automation skills, especially Python and ideally Go
• Experience leading SIEM migrations or large security platform transformations
• Deep knowledge of modern security tooling, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR or XDR, and cloud security
• Strong communication skills and experience partnering with engineering, infrastructure, legal, and compliance teams
