Overview
A leading, highly innovative fintech organization is seeking a Platform Security Engineer to join its elite cybersecurity team in New York City.
This role sits earlier in the software development lifecycle than traditional Application Security, focusing on securing the platforms, tooling, and infrastructure that developers build on. You’ll play a key role in designing and enforcing secure-by-default environments at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure platform architectures that enable safe, scalable software development
- Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and cloud infrastructure
- Partner with engineering teams to operationalize secure-by-design principles at the platform level
- Build and enhance DevSecOps capabilities, including automation, policy enforcement, and security tooling
- Identify and mitigate risks across infrastructure, pipelines, and developer environments
- Contribute to the evolution of the organization’s broader security strategy and standards
- Strong background in Platform Security, DevSecOps, or Infrastructure Security
- Experience securing developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native environments
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycles and security integration points
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proven track record of operating in high-performance, engineering-driven environments
- Experience building or scaling platform security programs from the ground up
- Familiarity with modern DevOps tooling and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to high-growth fintech or AI-driven organizations
- Strong scripting or programming experience (e.g., Python, Go)
